Surat : Gujarat’s largest district Kutch is known for its beautiful tourist destinations and elegant handcrafts. The state government has launched some very interesting campaigns like ‘Khushboo Gujarat Ki’ and ‘Kutch Nahi Dekha To Kuch Nahi Dekha” to boost tourism in the state. Improved tourist facilities in the state have resulted in a surge in tourist inflow in the region.
Under the guidance from Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani, Gujarat Tourism Department has taken several initiatives to develop and improve facilities at tourist spots. Under this, Mr. JawaharChavda, Minister of Tourism and Fisheries and Mr. Vasanbhai Ahir, Minister of State, Welfare of Socially and Educationally backward classes and Tourism todaylaid the foundation stone of a new building for handicraft market and wayside amenities at Nirona village of Nakhtrana taluka and Mirzapar village of Bhuj taluka respectively.
Various wayside facilities including lodging and boarding, toilet, parking and children play area will be created at a cost of Rs. 2.84 cr at Mirzapar. Also, the handicraft market of Nirona will be developed at a cost of Rs. 4 cr so the tourists can visit and experience the handicrafts made locally.
It is worth mentioning that Nirona village is famous for its Koperbel (Kharki), Lacquer Work (Lakha), Charm Kala and Handicrafts. People of this village have won several state and national awards. Improved facilities in both villages will provide more comfortable accommodation and food. On the occasion,Collector kutch , President of Nakhtrana Taluka Panchayat, Kutch MP, former Director TCGL – District BJP President Keshubhai Patel, Joint Managing Director TCGL Shri G.P. Brahmbhatt, former MLA Shri Pradyumansinh Jadeda local leaders and villagers’ remained present.
